Hi Everyone:
Well today is the first day since we hit the mainland that we have shorts and tshirts on up to now we have been in jeans and jackets. I think mother nature is having a nervous breakdown. The last week has been in the 50-60 and the other night they actually warned people about frost. I laugh because the Floridians are freezing and although this is not what we expected here it is more like an early spring.
It's hopefully going to get some warm weather as that is why we come down here in the first place. I know that all of you back home are wishing the weather was better back home but from what we have heard it has been just as strange there. Snow, thaw, cold warm it is strange.
I'm missing my stitching sister sooo much, I haven't stitched nearly as much as I had planned but maybe now that I can sit out on the balcony in the sun maybe that will change. The resort is having an everything crafts morning Wed so I though I might go and see what that is all about. I will take my cross stitch and maybe meet someone there with an interest. Otherwise nothing ventured nothing gained.
I hope to get out and look for my stitching shop this week sometime but I don't really need anything do I? Oh a girl can never have too much anyway love to you all.

Hi to Everyone:
For those that know that we are in the sunshine I would just like to say miss you all and I do really wish you could all be here enjoying this weather. We actually had snow in the lower part of SC which is a first for us but now in Daytona it is 75 the sun is shining and the beach looks absolutely wonderful. I haven't stitched a think since we left and probably won't till next week. They are getting ready for the Daytona 500 this weekend but we will be long gone before that happens.
Well I wish you all happy stitching and hope that the sun is shining back home. Take care everyone.

Merry Belated Christmas
I think this is a new record I have gone 3 months since my last blog. Oh well as they say better later than never.
It seems to me that Dec 1st hits and the next day is Christmas Eve. To everyone I wish a very belated Merry Christmas I hope that everyone had a great time. It was a little different for us this year as we are finally empty nesters. Our oldest son is the last one out. It is weird not having someone sneak up to our bedroom door and wake us up Christmas morning instead the same son called at 7 to wish us Merry Christmas.
After a wonderful breakfast we were on our way to our son's mother-in-law's a wonderful lady and a huge late lunch for christmas. Her son cooked the entire meal have you ever had a turkey wrapped in bacon, wow is it good. He also made fresh home made deep dish apple pie. I gotta say he is a great catch. Too bad he is already taken.
We all piled into a car after a long rest to digest our feast and went to see Les Mis. wonderful show but really long especially after eating a huge meal and having it sit there while you watch a movie. You just want to have a long nap.
Boxing day is my turn to cook and all the girls brought something so it wasn't all on me this time great. To pay a debt Peter the chef of Christmas day sent home a deep dish apple pie for D as a thanks for services rendered with everything on the table the pie will have to be frozen till another time when there will be less food. It will be great to enjoy when there isn't so much to choose from. Today is the 4th turkey dinner so whats left will be frozen until a later time when we can't wait for another turkey dinner.
I haven't touched any stitching over the holidays just taking a rest from it, I think it was all those ornaments that I just had to do for friends and family. Another few days and it will be New Year's Eve so to everyone I wish and very happy and healthy 2013. I have already set my projects for the next year 10 ornaments, cherry blossoms to be finished and hopefully the Eygptian Garden will get started before the end of 2013. I hope that everyone enjoys the coming year and finds time to sit and enjoy a needle pulling thread.

Greetings from the Travellers
Hi Everyone:
What a whirlwind for the last few days. Yes, we are travelling again, but it didn't start as it usually does. On Friday, Sept 21, we thought it was time to pack as we were leaving the next day. This is the norm for us, why pack too soon. You might forget what you put in there and have to unpack it again. As we packed my husband said, "don't forget the passports". Thinking I should get them while I was thinking of it I reached to our cubby and to my surprise they weren't there.
You know when you put something away in the same place for say 30-35 years always the same place and then you reach in and it isn't there, well you could have picked our jaws off the floor. What to do we are leaving the next day. We called the passport office and they said if we could get new pictures and get to the office before 4:30 they would do the rest. Just to let you know it was 2:45. We grabbed our coats and hit the floor running.
We made it to the passport office with 13 minutes to spare only to find out that we had to reapply for passports, not just renew, so that meant a guarantor and there were none within a 13 minute drive. We were advised that we could call a 1800 number and there were offices on call for the weekend. The long and short of it is that we filled out the full form got all the appropriate signatures, tore the house apart just in case they turned up and then called the 1800 number.
Just to let anyone out there know, yes there is someone on call on the weekends and if you wish to pay an extra $350 they will come in and open an office just to do your passport and I have to admit that if we were flying out or something else that we had to have them I guess we would have to. The alternative is that if we could wait until Mon during normal hours they would process them in hopefully the same day. There was still a charge of $150 for the quick processing, but that is less than $350.
Sat and Sun came and went and we continued to look for our passports in the hope that we would find them, we didn't. So we were in the passport office at 8:30 doors open and at 10:30 we walked out with our new passports in hand and a very grateful feeling. We got home, packed the car, had lunch and were on the road to Massachusetts and arrived at 6:30. We both took a deep breath and said "holy cow".
Now we start the vacation. Yesterday was settling in the usual stuff that we do once we get to our destination. Today we went to ABC Stitch Therapy. To all my stitching sisters WOW if you girls can come down here it is a worth the trip. They have moved and the new location is wonderful. The girls are wonderful and help in any way that they can. The threads are almost overwhelming there are so many types and colours, but it is just wonderful. It was long drive from where we were but I will say it was worth it and my husband isn't complaining too much.
I have picked up a few threads for projects that are in the works and my husband actually picked a pattern he wants me to do so of course I had to get that. As he put it "Happy Anniversary". We both laughed but I would go back again if it just wasn't so far.
Happy stitching everyone I know that tonight is stitching night for my girlfriends so enjoy and I'll see you all in a couple of weeks.

The Beginning of Fall
Helloooooo is anybody out there? Last night was the first meeting at the community center for the new season and we were a little light on attendance. We 4 that were there were wondering what happened to everyone. Aside from the noise across the hall from the inventors group it was so quiet. We talked and enjoyed telling stories of what was going on in our lives. Little stitching was done. Hope we see more of you at the next meeting.
It was a sad day for me today as we closed the pool. This for me is the marking of fall and colder weather. We all know that it is inevitable for the weather to change, but once the cover is on the pool the whole feeling of the yard changes and seems cold and unfriendly. The days stitching on the deck are numbered. Now its time to change the thinking and bring it inside.
On the plus I finished the seond panel of the cherry blossoms now onto the third and largest panel. I am trying for the end of 2012 to have this up and framed. We'll see how it goes.
Maybe by then I'll figure out how to take a better picture. Happpy stitching everyone, one thread at a time.

Holy Sh**t What happened to this Site
My goodness has it been that long since I last posted. Shame on me. You know I wasn't planning on bloging everyday but not being in this for a while I may just have to go back to the beginning and learn all over again. Lots of changes.
As my fellow stitchers are OOTDS I am enjoying the airconditioning today as this morning I had to have an EMG. For those of you who have never been so blessed, just let me explain, that having wires attached to your arm and electric current run through them well I'm still tingling and not in a good way.
My cherry blossoms is coming along wonderfully and when I get off I will take a picture to show my progress. Maybe it will get me to blog a little sooner next time. I'm learning a very valuable lesson on this piece that when you are doing a large piece make sure that you get all the threads you need because when it comes to replacing a DMC skein it may not be the same colour. I have just about finished the second section of this long piece hopefully will be able to finish the last section without running out of anymore threads.
Here's a question, does anyone have a good way of storing threads so that you know whether it is an original DMC colour or something that you have purchased in the last say 5 years? Maybe I should just learn to finish a project before I move on to another or make sure I buy extra threads.
The weather is set to be hot, humid and dry this weekend for the most part so for those of you that are heading up north to camp, go to a trailer or a cottage enjoy and have a safe and happy Canada Day. For the rest of us well there are lots of things going on around the City or maybe it's just a good time to spend with family and friends.
Happy Canada Day everyone!

Happy Happy Happy
A big Hi y'all to my stitching sisters back home. I sure have missed the gatherings and haven't found anything to replace it down here. I'm really behind in my threads basically because we haven't sat long enough to do anything.
It has been a fun couple of weeks we first started on our own and I think we were ahead of any bad weather. There was absolutely no snow in the mountains as we went through but then I guess the storm hit and you all got dumped on. From the information that we got it virtually melted the next day and since you have had temperatures in the double digits. Maybe we didn't need to go on this trip after all.
I have also tried to teach my friend who joined us for our trip how to knit but she doesn't really have an interest and she doesn't sit still for longer than ten mintues so it's hard to get any real teaching in. She doesn't do any crafts so it is starting from scratch. So far it hasn't been too successful.
Of course my own projects have suffered this last couple of weeks because we have been on the go so much. Tomorrow we start the next leg of our holiday on a cruise ship so I just wanted to let my friends know that I haven't forgotten you. In fact I truly wish you could be here with me. I know that you would all enjoy the sunshine and hot temperatures. The temperatures haven't gotten humid so it is wonderful to sit outside and enjoy a nice glass of wine.
Dinner is on the table so I should sign off, happy stitchiing everyone and see you in a few weeks.
