The last weekend of the summer is now a fading memory of beautiful skies, warm breezes and cool nights. What is it, when September starts, we all think of a new year starting. Do we all think back to school days when we went out shopping for new clothes for the coming year and those new pencil crayons that we just had to have to replace the stumps that remained from last year. It's funny how the mere mention of September and most smile and think back to those simpler days when the biggest stress was figuring out what to wear to school and whether our best friend would be in the same class.
Today it's raining and we are getting ready to close the pool for the season so until the rain stops I'm going through my stash and figuring out what I need for each of my projects that have been sitting around collecting dust. D and I are going on holidays, as some of my friends have said again, so it is always nice to have a list just in case we happen to stop anywhere that I might find some bargains. DMC south of the border is usually much cheaper than here and when some of the projects use 5 or 6 skeins of colours then it is nice to get them all at once.
I have recently learned a bit of a lesson regarding not buying enough threads. I started a Lavender and Lace Angel years ago, but didn't finish as usual, now I am trying to find the old DMC colours as some of the new colours don't match at all. The dusty roses are the worst. Thanks to friends with old stashes I have been able to find the right colour so I will try to get enough so I can finish this before I run out of any other colours.
Happy stitching everyone even though our days are getting shorter and the air is decidedly cooler it will be nice to cozy down for the evening to enjoy that simple pulling of a needle through fabric.
Keep on Stitching, one thread a day. Pennie
