Merry Belated Christmas

I think this is a new record I have gone 3 months since my last blog.  Oh well as they say better later than never.

It seems to me that Dec 1st hits and the next day is Christmas Eve.  To everyone I wish a very belated  Merry Christmas I hope that everyone had a great time.  It was a little different for us this year as we are finally empty nesters.  Our oldest son is the last one out.  It is weird not having someone sneak up to our bedroom door and wake us up Christmas morning instead the same son called at 7 to wish us Merry Christmas.

After a wonderful breakfast we were on our way to our son's mother-in-law's a wonderful lady and a huge late lunch for christmas.  Her son cooked the entire meal  have you ever had a turkey wrapped in bacon, wow is it good.  He also made fresh home made deep dish apple pie.  I gotta say he is a great catch.   Too bad he is already taken.

We all piled into a car after a long rest to digest our feast and went to see Les Mis. wonderful show but really long especially after eating a huge meal and having it sit there while you watch a movie.  You just want to have a long nap.

Boxing day is my turn to cook and all the girls brought something so it wasn't all on me this time great.  To pay a debt Peter the chef of Christmas day sent home a deep dish apple pie for D as a thanks for services rendered with everything on the table the pie will have to be frozen till another time when there will be less food.  It will be great to enjoy when there isn't so much to choose from.  Today is the 4th turkey dinner so whats left will be frozen until a later time when we can't wait for another turkey dinner.

I haven't touched any stitching over the holidays just taking a rest from it, I think it was all those ornaments that I just had to do for friends and family.  Another few days and it will be New Year's Eve so to everyone I wish and very happy and healthy 2013.  I have already set my projects for the next year 10 ornaments, cherry blossoms to be finished and hopefully the Eygptian Garden will get started before the end of 2013.  I hope that everyone enjoys the coming year and finds time to sit and enjoy a needle pulling thread.

Keep on Stitching, one thread a day. Pennie
